Customs and rites of the holiday of Shavuot
Coming up next August, this all new exhibition reveals the ancient customs and rites of the holiday of Shavuot. See how it was celebrated throughout time, since the days of King Solomon, as well as a surprising connection to legend of Habait and the construction of Solomon's temple. Bringing in the Sheaves is one of the most popular American gospel songs, based of Psalm 126:6. It is traditionally connected to the ancient Hebrew holiday of Shavuot, celebrating the Hebrews acceptance of the holy bible, but also the annual harvest time.
Shavuot is one the only three holidays instructing the gathering of all believers from across the land in Jerusalem and the temple. Opening this August on Habait Center's special display area.
this exhibition follows the many faces and names of Shavuot, from the early days of the Hebrew people in Canaan, through its life in the diaspora until modern days.
